Our Tattoo Creeper project is a way to collaborate with talented artists to add their spin on our creepers. We love working with creatives in any capacity & we want to see the world from their lens. To check out more of her work head to her Instagram

Tell us about yourself & the shoes that you customized:

My name is Jenny Richardson and I am Classy Creeps! I was born in Ottawa, Canada, but now live in the USA. The creepy-crawly design I created for these shoes is inspired by my love for all things that go bump in the night, and I’m so stoked that I  got the opportunity to participate in the perfect project to fuse my passions together. I chose the Classic Two-Tone Viva Mondo Creepers to customize because having both black and white areas to paint on was the perfect canvas, plus they just look cool as hell!

What currently fuels your creativity?

I’m forever visiting the past to fuel my creativity. I’m heavily influenced by classic horror films, midnight creature features, exploitation films, glamour hammer babes, vintage horror/pulp comics, vintage ads, and fashion. I love to explore and inject anything before my time into my art!

What’s your biggest accomplishment within your career?

I always say becoming a full-time self-employed artist will forever be my biggest accomplishment, and maintaining it is my constant goal because I’ve always been told it’s near impossible to do and maintain. That sentiment fuels me with the fire of a thousand suns because I could never settle with the idea of working for someone else's dream for the rest of my life.

How does fashion & art help you express yourself?

Life would be so boring without it! Fashion is the next greatest thing to creating art for me because it’s like an extended canvas that I get to reinvent however and whenever I want. I love being able to experiment with both art and fashion and express my love for all of the things that inspire me!

What do you want people to take away from your art?

Honestly, whatever they want. Art is fun for me, and I’ve never been one to take it too seriously. As long as I enjoy what I’m creating, I’m happy, and if others get any sense of joy, inspiration, or any sort of positive influence from what I create, that’s just icing on the cake, baby!

What’s your typical process of coming up with a new design?

I always have to inject myself into a hobby, like watching a movie, looking at old books or magazines, and researching the things I love to spark an idea. Once I have the idea, I gather my references and jump into it!

Are you currently working on any other projects?

I’ve been quite busy with commissioned work for a while now, but my focus is shifting to creating new art and apparel for my small business, so I’ve been busy working on new collections and artwork to put out for all the classy creeps who enjoy my art.
